Broomheath

Broomheath is a small area of natural green space which overlooks Martlesham Creek on the River Deben and is located off Sandy Lane. The site is predominantly acid grassland and gorse heathland with trees located mainly around the margins. The site incorporates a small informal parking area and is designated as an open access site, immediately adjacent to the boundary of the Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB. The area of the site is 1.54 ha, with features of interest including Lowland heath, Acid Grassland, and Nightingale, Linnet, Bullfinch, Skylark, and Song Thrush.
