Clifford Road Air Raid Shelter Museum
Clifford Road Tunnels is a WWII Home Front Experience located underneath the playground at Clifford Road Primary School in Ipswich. The tunnels were constructed in 1939 to protect the school and local community from bombing and blast damage during World War Two. They were recently uncovered and have been developed into a heritage site, offering a unique opportunity to explore a hidden world. The tunnels are open to the public on the second weekend of each month between April and October, with refreshments and home-made cakes available for purchase.
