Pipers Vale

Piper's Vale Local Nature Reserve and County Wildlife Site is a 37-acre area on the south-eastern edge of Ipswich. It features a variety of habitats, including lowland acid grassland, heathland, scrub, reedbed, and deciduous woodland. The reserve is part of the Suffolk coastal Sandlings, a remnant of the original landscape. Efforts have been made to revert some areas of scrub back to heathland to help rare heathland species.
