18th Ipswich Scout Group

The 18th Ipswich Scout Group is a local youth organization run by trained volunteers that focuses on building confidence and life skills in young people. The group provides structured, values-based programs across several age groups, starting with Beavers for children aged six to eight. As the children grow, they can move up into Cubs and eventually join the Scouts section. Members take part in a variety of active sessions designed to promote independence and teamwork, with a core emphasis on outdoor activities like camps and local community exploration.

Beyond the weekly term-time meetings, the group participates in larger community initiatives, including the annual Scouts Xmas Post scheme. Sessions take place in the evening at the dedicated group headquarters, which is a historic building originally constructed over a century ago as a squash court. The facilities include a main meeting hall and indoor space where youth members work towards earning their challenge badges.
