VENUE
Portman Road brings Ipswich Town supporters together for home matches, with generations of fans following the Blues from its stands. Close to the town centre, the stadium also hosts concerts, including Ed Sheeran’s three homecoming shows in July 2025. Guided tours, conferences and private events bring visitors through its doors beyond matchdays, while the club’s Planet Blue shop sells shirts and other merchandise.
Ipswich Town was founded in 1878 and has played at Portman Road since 1884. The club won the league championship under Alf Ramsey in 1962, followed by the FA Cup in 1978 and UEFA Cup in 1981 under Bobby Robson. Statues of both managers and former player Kevin Beattie stand outside the stadium, offering a visible connection to those achievements. Today, football and live entertainment keep the ground a gathering place for local people and visitors alike.
