Constable 250: Constable to Contemporary

Constable to Contemporary marks the conclusion of a year-long celebration dedicated to exploring the enduring influence of John Constable’s art through contemporary and community-based responses. The exhibition showcases over 100 artworks that engage with themes of landscape, people and nature, reflecting on Constable’s legacy through diverse creative interpretations.

A range of contributors including Suffolk Artlink’s Brave Art Groups, which create mixed media works inspired by Constable’s portraits, clouds and landscapes, and Community Hub Ipswich (CHIp), which presents an immersive youth-led artwork based on motifs from Flatford, will be featured. Alongside these pieces, works by Amanda Ansell, Ruth Philo, Raksha Patel, Hannah Wright, Sarah Milne and Juliet Lockhart will be displayed alongside selected items from the Ipswich collection.
