Constable 250 Family Workshop: Fuzzy Face Portraits This holiday sees the launch of a series of artist-led workshops centred around Constable-themed art, designed to engage families in creative activities. On Tuesday 22nd December, artist Jevan Watkins Jones will guide participants in creating a Fuzzy Face Felt Portrait inspired by Constable’s portrait paintings of family and friends. Attendees will examine historical details such as rosy cheeks and hairstyles from the period, sketch their ideas, arrange felt wool, and insert their fuzzy face into a shoe before walking away with the finished piece.

Each session lasts 45 minutes and begins at 10:15 AM, 11:15 AM, 1 PM, or 2 PM. All necessary materials are provided along with full guidance. The event is suitable for children aged five and older, though younger attendees may require assistance from an adult. Under-16s must be accompanied by a parent or carer throughout the activity.
